It’s Saturday afternoon and I just did 20.4. How was it? Well it sucked lol. Not the wod itself, I was actually looking forward to it. But during warm ups I tweaked my lower back (insert the FML in my brain).
So naturally as a coach I know to just do it scaled to not risk hurting it worse and keep my body from hating me right?
Nope totally opposite…I was like ok, maybe I just won’t get to the 225 clean and jerks. I went back and forth on what I should do. Go Rx and get a lower score (potentially hurt my back worse) or do it modified and get the body moving. But with the talk of a few of our amazing cfox crew I decided (smartly) to just modify the wod.
Point of this is that even coaches have a hard time putting the ego aside. Being honest about how you feel and listening to your body and telling a coach how you’re feeling that day is very important to your long term goals. Nagging injuries can just get worse and worse. Make sure you take the time off you need and heal.
PS: for all my 40+ peeps….is this what 40 feels like? It’s been only 3 days :/
Anyone seen my hypervolt?
